Additional Options

Below are all of the new options that are available either from the Theme Options tab, the Advanced Options tab or option boxes that appear on the page/post edit screen.

Horizontal Navigation Mods

There are two modifications that you can make to the horizontal navigation bar. You can add either a search box or you can social icons (or any other image that will fit).

You can even give the box some negative margin and push it up into the header area for a more dramatic effect…

Or go crazy and add even more images…

About Author Box

You can choose to include an author info box below the post. Once activated (on a post by post basis) it will display the authors nickname, their avatar and the information that has been entered into the authors biographical information box from the users profile page.

You can either choose to display the author box using the post style of your theme…

Or use the sidebar block style of your theme…

Custom CSS Builder

Now you can build custom CSS without having to know all the proper syntax. It’s not all inclusive but it gets the job done.

You can choose from the built in elements or enter your own. It even has a color picker so you don’t have to remember those pesky hex color codes.

Unlink Parent Menu Item

Now you can unlink the parent menu items on your horizontal nav menu. You can even unlink the parent item on wp_nav_menu that is used in the site map templates.

Read More Link

Change the Read More link to something more meaningful to your site…

You can even add an image to use for the Read More link…

Custom Header & Background

Besides the WordPress built-in custom header image and custom background, I have now created the ability to use a custom header image that does not use the Featured Image function. What makes this a great feature is that now you can have a different header on each page or post even if you have a header image with rounded corners.

New Widget Areas

Some new widget areas have been added. There is now a Home Page Left & Right. This is used on all of the page templates. It’s great for adding an image slider or whatever else you may need. You have the option to make the Home Page Left Widget 100% or split it 66%/33% between the right and left widgets. All of the page templates also allow you to position this widget area above the sidebar/content to span the full page width.

Two additional widget areas have been added to the Top and Bottom Widget areas. The Top and Bottom areas can be turned off on a page/post basis and they can also be positioned above or below the sidebar/content (full width).

Here’s what the widgetized area configuration looks like on the page templates…

Footer Links

Now you can use the WP Custom Menu for you footer links. Just create a custom menu and assign it to the footer. In your Theme Options remove the links and put whatever other text you would like. No more trying to figure out the HTML link codes.

Change Sidebar Configuration

Now you can change the sidebar location and configuration on every page or post. Each page/post can have a different configuration. The following selection box will appear on the right side of the page/post edit screen.
